Flora Surveys & Management

We have highly respected specialist skills in botanical surveys and flora management advice, particularly threatened species. Our staff have decades of combined experience surveying plants in Tasmania, covering all Tasmanian environments from coastal to alpine and from wilderness to urban.

Our precision skills in relation to the detection of threatened flora and their habitats during development assessments give regulators a high degree of confidence in our findings, and provide proponents with surety that there will be no surprises later in approvals. We combine this with expert understanding of implications under the Tasmanian Threatened Species Protection Act 1995, the federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and all other relevant protections, with our legislative understanding backed by years of participation at the organisational level on the NRE Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), as well as broader participation in the development of species-specific conservation advice and listing statements.

In addition to extensive experience in flora surveys and development assessments, we have extensive expertise and experience in the targeted beneficial management of threatened flora, including in the context of offsets, translocations (including seed collection and propagation) and restorations.
