Rumex bidens propagation and translocation

Rumex bidens is known from relatively few locations in Tasmania and is listed as vulnerable under the Tasmanian Threatened Species Protection Act 1995. Following discovery of a population at risk in the northern Midlands, North Barker have been integral in developing an offset strategy involving the reservation of a highly conservation significant wetland, and facilitating the propagation and translocation of the Rumex to the new site. Translocated plants are in the ground and will be monitored in coming years to give the best chance of success.
